Southwest Wildlife gets releasable wildlife for a variety of reasons. For this raccoon family, mama chose an “inconvenient” area to have her babies and was removed. Fortunately for her, she has a safe place to raise her family until they’re big enough to travel with her and return to the wild. She and her 3 kits, who were newborns when they arrived, are about ready to go outside to the rehab area where the babies can grow up in seclusion – away from people. She’s very protective and her babies are sleek and healthy. Good job Mom!
