Wildlife Sanctuary - Our Sanctuary

Southwest Wildlife Sanctuary

Some animals can never be released back into the wild due to their injuries or because they have been kept as pets and have imprinted on humans. Non-releasable animals will live out their lives in our accredited wildlife sanctuary.

Southwest Wildlife is the only facility in Arizona that is capable of handling large mammals and is, therefore, their only hope for rehabilitation and permanent sanctuary.

Southwest Wildlife’s sanctuary also serves as a holding facility for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Mexican Gray Wolf Recovery Program, which is reintroducing this endangered species to its native range.
