Southwest Wildlife Rehabiliatation & Educational Foundation, Inc.
Southwest Wildlife Rehabilitation and Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife native to the southwest, educating today's youth on the importance of native wildlife and the environment, and encouraging educational career opportunities in environmental science.

Wildlife Sanctuary - Accreditation

Southwest Wildlife is accredited by both the American Sanctuary Association (ASA) and The Association of Sanctuaries (TAOS) and, therefore, must operate under strict and rigorous guidelines with respect to animal management and care.

To maintain accreditation, Southwest Wildlife must:

  • provide animals a safe home for life
  • provide for the comfort of the animals
  • provide enrichment opportunities for the animals

As an accredited sanctuary, Southwest Wildlife does NOT:

  • utilize animals for commercial purposes
  • breed animals
  • buy, sell, or trade animals
