Baby Coyote Gets
Help
from a Volunteer |
Within
the first 10 years of Southwest Wildlife's existence,
we became the largest accredited (by both the American
Sanctuary Association and The Association of Sanctuaries)
wildlife sanctuary for mammals native to the southwest
in the United States. What makes Southwest Wildlife
unique is that this was achieved by a staff composed
entirely of extremely dedicated volunteers!
Because we
receive no state or federal government money for
our operations,
we have subsisted entirely on donations, grants,
and the hard work of many volunteers. It is the
dedication of the volunteers of Southwest Wildlife
who have
made it possible to achieve our goal of "saving
our wildlife, one life at a time."
Some volunteer
opportunities involve the possibility of direct physical
contact with animals and, therefore, require a series
of pre-exposure
rabies shots prior to volunteer participation
in those opportunities.
All
volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
